Plan a housecleaning party
A new home needs to be cleaned before the furniture is moved in, and the residence the family is leaving needs to be cleaned once it is empty. Use your WhatFriendsDo.com team page to get the “elves” organized: suggest that everyone bring some cleaning supplies (and these can be left behind for future use in the new house!) Leave a fun surprise or two in the house while you’re there!
A family meal
During a move, cooking isn’t usually something new homeowners get around to! Take a meal to your friends. Consider using your friend’s recipes – maybe they don’t have energy right now to fix their own family favorites, but they sure will enjoy the familiar foods. (Be sure you sign up for a day to take food on your WhatFriendsDo.com team page!) |

Plan a yardwork day
Moving is overwhelming, and in the midst of unpacking boxes, your friends may not have time to weed the flowerbeds, trim and mow or rake leaves. Use your WhatFriendsDo.com team page to organize friends to spend an hour or two doing yardwork. A few flats of flowers will add a special touch and help the new house feel like home!
Family fun day
If your friends have young children, plan an outing for the kids … take them to a museum or the zoo or to a ballgame – get them away from home for awhile.
Directions included – If your friend is moving to a new city, create a binder with maps of the new neighborhood, directions to nearby grocery stores, malls, veterinarians, pizza place. Include coupons and gift cards. |
